WFR Recert Classes

Grand Canyon River Guides has always been dedicated to sponsoring top-notch wilderness medicine classes that are tailored specifically to the challenges of the Grand Canyon environment.  We sponsor a Wilderness First Responder Re-certifcation class, but because we know how challenging it is fit things into your busy schedule, scroll down for other options in Flagstaff and in other areas. 

GCRG Course Sign-Up

Canyon and River Medicine (WFR Recert), Sponsored by GCRG and DMI

DMI courses are specifically tailored to the Grand Canyon environment and taught by Dr. Tom Myers, Marc Yeston, and Michelle Grua (and CPR by Dawn Rivas). If you're already signed up and need to pay your balance, you can do so here.

Dates: February 16-18, 2024

Location: O.A.R.S. Warehouse in Flagstaff (1802 W Kaibab Lane)

Time: 8 AM to 5 PM on the first two days, and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the last day. (Note: the CPR portion will be on Saturday, Feb 17 from 9AM to noon).

NEW COVID PROTOCOLS FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS:

  • COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are strongly recommended for all WFR recert and CPR-only participants.

  • If you have not been vaccinated against COVID-19, you must test negative within 24-hours of the start of the course.

  • Bring a mask and practice social distancing.

  • If you feel sick or believe you have been recently exposed to COVID, please do not attend! We will refund you in full.

  • GCRG retains the right to adjust these protocols as needed to respond to evolving COVID conditions and county infection rates.
